Bought a Matrix

Post by Farmer »

Went out to purchase a 405 Matrix liked everything about it. Tried to cock it and was surprised , I could barely get it to the latch . Have had troubles with my shoulder :? Had to pass on buying it :( . Just glad I tried it before I took it home .

My buddy tried it after I got it latched and only got it to the anti dry fire . Ended up with the 380 . To windy to sight in today will try tomorrow . Will have to get Don to build me a string and it should be good to go .

I don't think you settled at all if you got the 380, I have the 355, and it's all I need, and then some. Congrats on a fine bow!

I wanted the 405 for moose and bear hunting ( would like to talk Don into bear hunting with me :D ) using 500 plus grain arrows . I was looking for KE not speed . I liked the 405 my shoulders not so much . There would be no prolonged shooting sessions with the 405 unless I used the c2 . The other reason I was leaning towards the 405 was the fact I could purchase a bare bow . Did not need another scope , quiver etc . The 380 is only with a package .

Like the 380 so far need to spend some time shooting with various arrows .

When I first got the 405, cocking it made my leg "black and blue and I thought "Oh God, what did I get himself into?"

After, "eating my wheaties", adjusting my rope and technique, I find it not much harder than cocking my Exomax. That's what determination does.

Comfy the 405 was to much like a Bowflex exercise machine for me  . I will work out with the 380 for a while and then maybe get a 405 . And yes to those of you wondering if I was in shape , cause round is a shape , right ?

Farmer -
I hear ya about the 405 & agree! It will take a lot of getting used to.

Bought one also ; low and behold hurt my shoulder; waiting for surgery now .

Bummer is the 405 might not see any action this year !
:(
When doctors start out with the phrase " AT YOUR AGE " - lets the wind right out of your sail.

Most any excel will take down bears or moose - just let them come closer for a sure kill shot.
