no turkeys but good morning *pics*

Post by xbowrook »

well, after finally bagging a nice jake yesterday i thought i'd try another of our properties this morning.. heard a few gobbles but nothing close... shortly after light i noticed movement and saw 3 nice hens.. they were acting strange, then i noticed a young raccoon chasing them.. almost like they were playing tag..lol.. then, after a few hours in the blind i decided to get going.. although no turkeys took a dirt nap, i was satisfied just getting out and figured that 'coon and hen tag match was enough to satisfy my morning afield.. then, i saw something that made my day... pretty rare i guess, but i noticed something moving about 10 yards from my blind.. noticed twin fawns that were no more than a couple days old.. they were so adorable, they little buggers could hardly stand.. i got to within a couple feet but didn't stay long.. it was then i realized how lucky we, as hunters and fishermen, really are.. i could sit and dwell on a tough year, not getting any birds today, so forth and so forth.. but then to witness something like this, was truly amazing.. here are a few pics..
