Insert Glue

Post by nchunterkw »

Started building some arrows the other day and needed some insert glue. I was going to use the blue top Gorilla glue, but saw this instead and gave it a try......it is Loctite Super Glue - Extra Time Control.

It comes in a very well designed bottle that allows you to really control the application, and as far as I can tell sets up like an instant adhesive but gives you plenty of time to twist and seat the insert before holding. Kind of like an epoxy and kind of like an instant.

Interested to hear any thoughts. Here is a link the a data sheet on it.

I used Loctite brand Super Glue gel on my Big John arrows. I didn't know they had the Extra Time Control, but I can see where it would be an advantage because the regular glue sets up really fast and you have to work quick with it because once it sets it ain't coming apart! I'll give the extra time control a try next time around, thanks for posting that.

I use the Locktite super glue on my inserts and fletching. It's worked great for my needs.
