To answer xcaliber's request for info about me - I am 5'11", 205 lbs., age 57, and work in the woods (chainsaw, etc.). I am undecided between the Matrix 355 and the 380.

F250-2, I see you hit the same brick wall I did  I got to play w/ both before I bought and you honestly can't go wrong w/ either. I ended up w/ the 355 . . .w/ what little I've played w/ it . . . don't try to shoot a group a 20 yards! the same w/ it at 30 . . . you can but, have a good supply of arrows! . . . but then again from what I read ALL Excalibur xbows will do it. so you cant make a bad decision, the only thing I would look at is years down the road, am I going to pack, load, and un cock it then? . . . .good luck, I've been in your boots

I'm a newb, but I think a Blackout 405 topped with a Leupold of some sort would be real close. In the interim, the Blackout 380 will fill my tag..
