Bow-Mag Arrowheads

Post by DryFire »

I just saw this on one of those TV hunting shows. At first I thought it was a joke, but evidently someone is really marketing these. It's a big ole blunt looking tip that contains a .38 or .357 cartridge that fires on impact. I'm prone to dropping arrows from cold fingers from my tree stand, so this would be a real bad fit for me.
I'm sure our local fish and game folks would have a real problem with these unless you were shooting hogs. Has anyone ever heard of or used such a thing? Would you admit it if you did?

That's pretty crazy. Can you say Rambo?
Looks like a bad accident looking for a place to happen. No thanks!

I have to admit, it's a novel idea, but a bad fit for me. I would think they are good for one shot and would probably damage the arrow. (I sure hope I'm not stepping on a sponsor or something.)

They can ignite on launch and if you hit a stump the arrow can fire right back at you.
Some people just like stepping on rakes
