Not good news

Post by xcaliber »

Well, the farm I hunt is not available anymore. Family is keeping the house, and that's it.I might hunt Jasper Pulaski this fall, and Winamac. Looking for something close. Real bummer this close to the fall!

Sorry to hear that Dan ! I'm sure you'll find some farms to hunt ! Just try to be positive ! A lot of time in circumstances like this you end up with better places to hunt than you had originally !

It is fun hunting new places. I still have the farm in Morroco, just 45 minutes drive. I have another Public spot not too far away that gets very liltte pressure. Might hit that place too. I'm Google Earth Man today. Just finished the yard, hitting the splash, then Arial Scouting!

that's a toug situation loosing that farm. I know the public hunting areas up north are hammered as there is not many state areas to even hunt or to choose from. If the farm ownership up there is like the farm ownership down southern Indiana,,hard to get permission any more to hunt anywhere private. More and more farms are leasing too, which can make it darned expensive to hunt. I feel for ya! Good luck this year.

I know the feeling . Seems every time I got a good spot something happens and I would have to start over. Never could get myself in a position to buy my own. Now it's a little late in life. Oh well I just like being out there getting one is not that important to me any more .so public land it is.

Sorry to hear that Dan, but I'm sure you'll locate another place to hunt this fall. Be praying for something close to home for you.

Thanks guys. This was a good deal for the family, and the farmer is getting on a bit. His son works in Chicago, no time for farming, and he will hunt there as a guest. The families know each other, it's all good. Heck, a few more years, and I'm cashing in my chips at the "Rock" and who knows where I'm moving to. I just might mosey on down to Georgia, or Alabama. :D :D
