Lumenok fit question

Post by Kegbelly »

I got the Lumenok size GTF as advised to go with my BE Zombies. Doggone these fit tight  I haven't had a chance to shoot them but I wonder if they'll even turn on from the force of the shot. I have to press the end of the nock against my workbench incredibly hard to turn them on, and they're even harder to turn off. Do I need to sand a little on them to make them fit a little better?

no don,t sand them they are tight . they will work just fine. put one together and try it. they will be a little hard to turn off (use your puller ) if to lose they will go on in your quiver.

....absolutely correct!...The GTF's are a little tight but will light up by a solid tap on a table surface to make sure they work...I tested each one this way...I used them at the range this past weekend. They all lit up like a charm and were easily extinguishable with none other than....Danny Miller's Arra Puller!

I always shave mine till I can turn them off using my fingers. I have never had one fail.

OK, I won't sand or shave them. I've had so much going on this week I still haven't got to shoot them yet to see if they work ok. Hopefully tomorrow...

I also shaved mine until they fit pretty snug. They dont move any and now they are pretty easy to cut off.

Just got some Lumi's from Boo for Zombies . They seem tighter than other shafts that I have fitted with lumi 's . They seem to be too tight .. Thought about sanding them as well . was afraid to split the shaft .

As long as they are the GTF's they will be fine...

Hey KB, what I've done with some of my Luminoks for both my crossbow and vertical bows is applied a small amount of Dalton's string wax. They're still tight but easier to extinguish. As Anthony said, I also use the Danny Miller plier pullers for my zombies. :D

Good idea Paul. I thought about something along those lines. I gotta shoot em first to see what I need to do, if anything. Everyone say's they'll work fine but mercy these things fit tight. It wouldn't be out of the question that a little final fitting may be needed. We'll see...

You are putting a .301 nock into a .300 shaft.
Trim them a tad so they fit correctly.

just be carful when you install them . make sure the wires don't rub on the rails . mark the down vane. you can mess up your bow if you are not careful .

I carve some plastic off all of mine. I use a knife and scrape plastic off, but if you're careful not to hit the contacts you can use a file. It should take a good push on the palm of your hand or 20 to 50 lbs of pressure to turn them on.
