24 days till Ontario Archery Opener ...

Post by R.J. »

The 2nd week of our archery season looks to be a good moon phase !

The week off our controlled hunt looks good as well !

Of course it looks good. This is the first year in a long time that I won't be off work for the controlled hunt. :( I may try to squeeze in a day or two.

Hey RJ,

My boss was on me about having too many vacation credits so I took the entire month of October off and the first week of Controlled.

405 is ready complete with Big Johns customs, Wabi's call and a new pack of Wasp Cam Locs (the old discontinued ones) I found hanging in a store in Ottawa last week.

Looking forward to it~!

Cheers,

We went out today to start getting ready for Oct.

Thought we'd change out a few stands and put up some cams.

Got one cam up and that was all we could take

Forgot the bug spray and the skeeters drove us out.

I put a stand back in behind the spot Neil shot his buck a couple years ago. Got a few pics but so far, no bucks

I AM SOOOOOO ANTSY for deer season this year! Did a bit of 3D today just to feel like I was out with the bow in my hands.... but shooting foam just isn't cutting it.

I'm getting antsy as well, just hope this surgery heals up good and quick. Makes sitting in the stand very uncomfortable ;-)

Woooooo Hoooooo - 3 weeks from Wednesday.

Last year my season ended at 8 am on opening day - while that's nice I hope to stretch it out at least a couple of weeks this year

Hahaha! Is that you Glen/Jim?

I was high at 70 - will have to do that more often to see where my tape puts me for that range. :D. Good shoot and good people! Was nice to see you again!

Thought that might get ya thinkin' for a moment!
It was good seeing you again! Even if you were hiding behind those dark glass.
I'll try and light a fire under Glen to go to Oxford next week. Looking forward to it already! :D

Yes indeed, October first is the day archery deer hunters in Ontario anxiously wait for. It can't come soon enough.

Unfortunately for me, the property where I used to hunt is no longer available. It looks like I'll be taking a break from deer hunting this year. :(

Good luck to all those who will be hunting this year. I'll be looking forward to seeing your pictures and reading your stories.

I hate hunting alone and can't always find someone to come, I will let you know if I need some company. Heck, look how Neil made out last time I took him ;-)
