ReServing a custom string?

Post by cdup »

First time serving one of my strings! I like to learn and do things for myself and my question before I do is. Do I untwist the string before reserving or leave it twisted?

Set yer string up at the length required. Untwist it 6 times. Then serve it & twist the 6 times back into string

Untwist at least 6 full turns. Lay the serving on as tight as the serving break strength will allow.
How do you know how tight that is? By breaking the serving a few times.

If you bought the string from me, keep in mind that the first reserve is free.

I was really fortunate the year I went to Boofest, Don was going to reserve a string and I asked if I could watch. Well if you know Don, I got a class in reserving strings. Oh, and Danny Miller came over to help. Thanks guys. I learned more in five minutes than I would have in several times of trying myself.Heck no university has better instructors!
