Then on the evening hunt we went to the soy bean fields. My other friend shot a doe.
Around 6:45 I heard a noise coming out of the woods to my right.Couldn't see anything because of a pine tree branch. I leaned out over the stand and saw a deer leg. Backed up a little and got the bow up and ready. Then he came walking out into the beans. Ranged him quick and put the crosshairs behind the left shoulder. He stopped and the arrow was thru him. He bounded away into the woods on the opposite side of the corner I was hunting.
The ground down here is a sand base and very quiet. Waited about a half hr to start tracking. Not very heavy at first but then it got good. Went about 50 yds and he got up. Backed out and went back in at first light he was only about 30 yds past where I jumped him. Darn foxes chewed on the exit hole over night.
Nice 205 on the scale at camp. Back tines are just over 11 inches with 19 inch spread. Great way to start the year
