That is a tough question that will bring about a lot of answers! Nikon that I have is good, Redfield Revenge is good, all the Leupold scopes are great choices. Hawke people love them too. For the money right now, it is hard to beat the Redfield Revenge!

For a small scope, it is a hard one to beat! Fits the Matrix frame real nice too.

I like my Leupold VX2 1-4x20.
Only a single crosshair but set on 2x (for my bow) I can use the reticle for 3 yardages.

The Leupold VXR 2-7 with the Firedot reticle (a fine dot) and 30ml main tube will really extend your shooting till half hour after sunset. Place the dot and pull the trigger.

Easiest question, Leupold take your pick.

My Leupold excels during the last few minutes if low light shooting time.

At 12.6 oz the Leupold 2-7 VXR is still lighter than any Excalibur scope.

I really like the Nikon Bolt Xr scope on my Equinox, light, short, accurate and with a 3" to 4" eye relief. Great in low light conditions.
