Excalibur Exomax

Post by Dale »

Just bought an Excalibur Exomax. Friend of mine said Excalibur was the best. This seems to be a serious piece of work. Very accurate   . Dear season opens tomorrow. Looking forward to trying this out. Using aluminum 2219 with the bolt cutters. Brand new to cross bows, and deer hunting.

You have a beast of a bow. It is fully capable of taking an elephant. Have fun looking for your arras!

He's serious.

I fired a downhill shot through a doe at 30 yards and didn't find my arrow until the next season. It was almost 100 yards from my stand. If you think you've walked far enough, check just a little further.

I have a 2006 ExoMax and will have it up a tree Saturday. You're gonna love it.

Great Bow. The one I owned was a Brown Bear model.

Congrats, the max is a fine bow.

I have owned 2 (one duty, one standby) until the advent of the matrix. I sold one and gave the other to my son. It's gonna take a lot of years before my matrix knocks down as many deer as my max did.

One piece of advice - The max has a really long power stroke and as result most bolts and broad head combinations do not extend into the stirrup and as a result it is totally possible to put your foot in the stirrup while the bow is loaded. Than if you are not paying attention and try to uncock the bow you end up with the bolt stuck in your foot.

Over the years I ruined two pairs of boots this way. Fortunately I was able to re-cock the bow both times before damaging my toes.

Like Boo said have fun looking for your bolts. Until I started using lighted nocks I almost never found a bolt.
