Doe # 2 in the fridge!!!

Post by strum »

I decided to get out this afternoon to a stand I shot a doe out of last year.
so far I have hunted this farm 6 times and this eve was the first deer I seen..
was beginning to wonder.
we have had a cold front come in the last day or so ago and very high winds..
I went anyway thinking I was in for a six flag ride :D but is was not to bad and just as the light was dimming it calmed. sunset 7:17 .. at 7:17 I see movement. its a small buck .never was sure I think he had 4 points but could have been a spike.. so I was watching him feed at 35 yards doing the ..should I shoot him or let him walk dance in my mind (really didn't want to) and I hear leaves right under me . she had came in from behind and was headed straight to him,,
the folage is so thick I didn't have many shots so I didn't hesitate.. the second I got the crosshair on her I let er fly..
the sound said it all and she did a mule kick higher then ive ever seen and was gone. so I got down found my arrow and it didn't look bloody. I pulled it out of the groud and it hit me . crap..no really crapp..the worst smelling arrow  , and I had it in my hand..
I back out, take tree stand and gear to the truck and head back in..
great blood so all I had to do was follow til it turned into a deer..
I had hit her the right hind 1/4 and the arrow went through the gut sack and out the belly. was able to get her home fast enough and get the guts out with out tainting the meat (wheew)
so from the shot at 7:20 to now 10:11 I have a deer in the fridge..my mess cleaned up..took a shower and have my clothes in the washer ..oh I need to eat something
sorry for the poor pics but my wifes at work and my brothers in bed so I was on my own and wasn't to much in the picture taking mode..
