Help

Post by Mtnfun »

I am wondering how many grains an 18" Diablo weights without a field tip/ broadhead?
Is anyone using them with a 380 and 100gr head?

Thanks in advance

The Diablo's are pretty much 250 grains bang on (someone weighed them at 253 grains) WITHOUT a broadhead.

So "at minimum" you would need to use a 100 grain broadhead to meet the 350 grain requirement for safe shooting with the bow.

While going with the minimum of 350 grains will give you the "fastest speed" it will not give you the "best thump".

So if you plan on "hunting" the bow instead of target shooting over a chronograph, you may want to go with a heavier broadhead.

Also, the FOC with a 100 grain head may only be in the 12-13% range. I have found that it is much easier to get a very tight group with significantly more forward weight.

Speed kills if you get run over on the highway, when hunting, hitting your prey with a sledgehammer is better than a tack hammer :P
