Lol. That seems to be the way it goes. Have you thought about bringing a .22 rifle with you to your deer stand? You can purchase and sight in with Ultra Low Velocity ammo which we call silent ammo. It's quieter than a pellet rifle so you can plunk squirrels all day without making noise.

Re: tree rats
Anthony, i don't understand. Are rifles not allowed for squirrels? If they are then the ammo should be fine. It's just close range ammo traveling slower than the speed of sound. Please enlighten me.amythntr wrote:paulaboutform wrote:Lol. That seems to be the way it goes. Have you thought about bringing a .22 rifle with you to your deer stand? Re: tree rats
Just a guess, but some states do not allow you to be afield with a bow and a gun at the same time. Even though each of them are legal by themselves for certain game, they aren't legal together. That is the case in West Virginia.

Re: tree rats
It is not legal to have both bow and gun afield at the same time here in michigan Other than carrying under the ccw counseled pistol permit.

This is why I always have a few small game arrows or bolts in quiver
