OT/ I lost a friend

Post by Kegbelly »

I'm heartbroken. I lost my beloved Shiloh Shepherd, Dakota, this morning. He was 11. Incredibly intelligent, loyal and faithful, and so sweet, gentle and loving. He was 106 lbs of love, our big wooly bear. I've had a lot of dogs in my life, but I've never had a companion quite like him, and probably never will again. RIP my friend, you were one of a kind and we will miss you dearly.

Sorry for your loss. Best dog I ever had was a Collie named Ginny. Lost her probably 15 years ago and still think of her very often.

R.I.P. Dakota.
I have a big soft spot for Shepherds. Every time I see on my heart goes awwwww.
My most sincere condolences John. I hope Dakota is playing with my Shepherds where ever they are.

hi john,

I am really sorry for your loss. I lost my german shepherd "BEAR" 31/2 years ago now and miss him as much now even tho 3+ years have gone by. when you are board and on the computer do a search for 'Rainbow Bridge". I found a ton of reading that gave me some comfort in my time of grief that really helped me out. when I done that search 3 years ago I found a site that did personalized pet memorials. I had a memorial done with his picture and now hangs on my wall and I see it every day. everyone grieves different and this was my way of helping me deal with it. Bear and I will never be apart again. the rainbow bridge poem is a MUST READ for pet lovers that are grieving! take care

John....so sorry to hear of the passing of your beloved Dakota....you and your wife obviously have a lot of fond memories of him...It might sound selfish....but I take death pretty hard with humans....I could not throw another layer on to that with pets...dang, it killed me when I had to flush Angelica's Beta Fish down the toilet after 3 years....

May you always hold onto your great and fond memories....hurt and pain somehow turns into a warm, fond feeling that somehow fills the void of loss in time!

All the best,

Anthony :)
