355 vs 380

Post by kevyaggs »

Im looking to get my first crossbow. Im interested in both the 355 and 380, the only thing Im wondering is what are the widths of both these crossbows when cocked. Ive never hunted with a crossbow before, id most likely be hunting from a blind.

I believe all dimensions are the same except the length. The difference is negligible, I think about 3 /4 ". My vote goes to the M380 simply because I like the extra power and flatter trajectory. The only other bow I'd consider over the 380 would be the 405. If my main concern was size and being as compact as possible, I'd switch my focus to the Micro 335. Also, ANY of excal line will take down med size north American game with the proper broadheads/arrow combination and close enough range.

I have the 355 and it's one heck of a bow!
I'm 100% satisfied with it's performance.

355 will take down anything you hunt. I love mine, but since you're new to crossbows, the 380 comes with an ADF, and I recommend that feature highly for newbies!

...I have to agree with my paisan again!....100% correct...I have the M380 and shoot from a blind...don't believe the wing span (32" I believe uncocked) will be any issue....Now if you want narrower than you go to the Micro 335 at a mere 25.25" uncocked....

The 380 will come with an Anti Dry Fire (ADF) scope mount, a cheek piece, and a Recoil Energy Dissipation system (REDS). If you want that on a 355 it will cost you extra. Plus with the 380 you get a faster bow, but your going to have to pull 20 more pounds to get it. Buy the above items separately for the 355 and your right up there in price with a 380. It is a tough choice to make. Both will get the job done. Shoot the same arrow out of both bows and the 380 is going to shoot it a little faster for you. Good luck! Either way you win, they are both great bows.

I have a 355 with all the things that the 380 has . about the same price . I chose the 355 because I have a short frame and it is easy for me to cock. they are both good bows and will do the job and bullet proof :D :D :D

If width is a primary concern; go with a Micro 335, no doubt. If speed is your thing, a Matrix 380 or 405 is the best thing going. If you need a light drawing bow, the Matrix 330 is king.

Yup its time to decide what yer priority is fps or poundage. I bought the 355 n liked it so much i bought her big brother Kong 405. Now if'en you want a nice tree stand model wid decent speed the Micro 335 is yer ticket.
