Help in a purchase of xbow

Post by George in WA i got Xbow »

I just sent my Doctors OK on the application for crossbow hunt in Washington to the Game Department. I expect my permit shortly.

Short on time though, opening is Sept 1st.

I need help on purchasing a crossbow from Vancouver, BC.

I would also appreciate any help on the package I need.

I will need a cocking aid. Below is the States requirements for crossbows:

1) broadhead blades: must be 7/8 inches wide or wider. Must be unbarbed etc.
2) No scope,, best sights available?
3) arrow: at least 16 inches or longer.
at least 6 grains per pound of draw weight.
minimum of 350 grains.
4) bow: at least 125 pound draw.
limb: at least 24 inches or wider.
draw lenght: at least 14 inches or longer.
Working trigger safety? which means?
weight: 15 pounds or less,, does this include arrows affixed?

Help, tell me what to buy,, or best options available.

Hope my wife doesn't spend to much money in Canada!

George,
I'm not clear on all the answers, but I'll try to help.
1) broadhead blades: must be 7/8 inches wide or wider. Must be unbarbed etc.
A lot of choices here, but I like SlickTrick & G-5 Montec
2) No scope,, best sights available?
If red dot sights are legal, a Horton or TenPoint with multiple dots would be my choice.
3) arrow: at least 16 inches or longer.
at least 6 grains per pound of draw weight.
minimum of 350 grains.
I'm confused here
If 6 grains/pound of draw weight, a 125# draw weight would require a 750 grain arrow??????
If 350 is minimum go with any of the Excaliburs and you'll be fine!
4) bow: at least 125 pound draw.
limb: at least 24 inches or wider.
Hmmmmmm.........
Excalibur Vixen, Exocet, Exomag, or Exomax would meet the requirements! (Get the idea I like Excalibur?)
Working trigger safety? which means?
When the safety's on you can't pull the trigger & fire the xbow.
weight: 15 pounds or less,, does this include arrows affixed?
I don't think this would be an issue, any hunting crossbow will be much less than 15 pounds.

If you want to get the best price and service available in Canada give bj a pm. He can get you anything you would like at very reasonable prices and no problem to ship to the states!
Bj is a forum member and he is from Ontario!
I believe he is forum member 119.
Look him up and try him out, I haven't heard of a single dis-satisfied customer as yet and don't expect to!
Happy shopping!
