Problem with Exomax...help please

Hey All:
I got out to my deer stand tonight with my son and discovered a problem with the Exomax.
The scope rail is loose.
I can lift it and it will go down.
The play is about 1/2 inch.
When I wiggle it the trigger also moves.
Any ideas what it could be?
I did cock it and there was no wiggle in it then.
This is a big problem as my son and I have been hunting morning and
night trying to fill our last two tags.
Season is over December 31st here so I might be sidelined until next year.
Any idea what it might be?

Yer problems are screws loose. Ck the scope mt screws 4 of them. Tighten good, next take stock off n make sure the 2 trigger screws are tight. Then put stock screws back in tight. That should do it. Plus ck the scope rings also

Thanks for the input but it's the actual rail that's loose not the scope.
My son's Exomax has the bolt spring up off the rail a bit.
Mine rests on the rail and I can lift it up and down 1/2 inch?
I'm wondering if something is broken inside?

I've never had a problem with my Exomax, but the scope rail loosened on my Matrix 380. It was the allen screws in the side of the rail. A little loctite and problem solved.

Sounds to me like the screws that hold the trigger assembly in the rail are loose. If the whole trigger assembly is moving when you move the scope you'll need to pull the rail out of the stock & tighten the screws. (a little blue loctite would be a good idea if they are loose)

you didn't say what scope you have on your bow. I had a similar problem with my Hawke xb30. The mount on this scope is a bit different than most. There are screws on very bottom of mount that will come loose. You have to remove entire mount from bow to tighten them up. I see that others have already told you to check the screws that hold the trigger assembly in place. Good luck.

Sounds just like what Vixenmaster said, scope mount, and trigger screws, also Wabi suggested LockTite, use the Blue 242. If you don't have any, you could use finger nail polish in a pinch to get you by until after the season. Be careful not to strip out the hex in the button head screws in the scope base!

Yer bolt/arrow thingy is called a spring retainer. Must be a misunderstanding as the rail/mainframe doesn't come loose, all parts attach to it!

Trigger mechanism screw is loose (check the forearm screw as well), scope mount is part of the trigger assembly that's why the scope don't move when cocked and the assembly is under pressure.

Should be an easy home fix. The tip[s] on the trigger screws is a good one.....While you are at them, add a drop of blue or purple loc-tite. Iow, even if they are tight now......

There are replacements available for the 4 mount screws w/ bigger hex or torq heads, fwiw........
