80m Fox Kill

Post by torana9x »

So went out for a rabbit hunt tonight with my cousin, there wasn't much around but he ended up shooting one. Now my turn.

This was on my work property which is a vineyard, so we were just walking along the ends of the rows looking down them for rabbits, and i saw these 2 big glowing eyes and was like fox! as i was getting ready for a shot he hopped over a couple rows so i had to re position. My cousin gave me a range of 80m, and since the scope only goes to 60m i had to aim quiet a bit over the head. Being confident with my placement i fired the shot, heard the fox make a noise and jump.

Was like sh*t i reckon i got it! walked up the row and found the arrow covered in blood, i then ducked under about 3-4 rows (about 10m) and there he was lying dead.

Was using an 18" Zombie Slayer 92gn brass insert, 100gn trophy taker terminal t-lock broadhead, standard plastic nock, blazer vanes.

Nice shot!

Not something I'd try on a valuable furbearer, but I think they may be an invasive species where you are and less highly thought of.
