Grizzly Vs 310

Post by BoltCutter »

Im just looking over the stats on the two bows, both at 200lb draw and was wondering how come the Grizzly has a power stroke of 11.5 Inches at 305 FPS and the 310 has a power stroke on 10.9 Inches but at 310 FPS. Is it something to do with the SMF Rail?

I with you don't understand? Hope fully someone that does will chime in. I can't see the difference in the rail one being alu, and the other smf accounting for it? And I don't know why the matrix 310 is no longer in the 2015 line up? More questions than answers.....

Without even looking at them I would say compare the width and length of each bow.

that's about right..if you do the math..
11.5
-10.9
.6

so the overall length should be .6 difference but not so.. its .65
it has to be the sweptback verses flat riser ....or bobs my uncle

But still wonder if the 310 has been discontinued and replaced by the new grizzly 305..

I see it as a ibex smf with a shortened stock & rail with matrix limbs.
Surprized both the Ibex and 310 are not cut from the line up.
Unless the Ibex smf inventory needs to be reduced first .

Time will tell.

In the end what is left is cheaper matrix as stated. In Ad.
Cheaper frame without Reds should equal a lower priced option.

Should be interesting to see if the price actually reflects as such.

Suspect it also is part of the long term strategy to phase out  original long limb product line.

as much as I loved the long limbers..i see no reason for Excalibur to continue making them. im sure they will keep a stock for replacements but over time they could be hard to find .

Agreed.

The rifle stock vs the thumb hole maybe the last piece to the puzzle.
The best indicator of THE FINAL PHASE OUT would be
the release of a LOW Weight / Low Speed narrow limb RIFLE stock version.

Then it would interesting to see the rush / pressure to make available the ability to purchase replacement wide limbs.
Fear of a reduced supply should be a good trigger to create panic buying.

Here's the deal, the Grizzly and Matrix 310 are virtually the same crossbow. The reason for the slight difference in advertised speeds is just which way we rounded the number since they never are exactly a 305 or 310. They may shoot 302 or 308 so we have come up with a number that makes sense, thus the reason for no speed number in the name Grizzly. Each crossbow is an individual, I remember last year we had a Matrix 405 shooting 417 and some would be 403 so you need to pick a number somewhere in there. But, in the big picture a few feet per second in one direction or the other makes no difference...it will still do its job. :D
