Arizona EZ Fletch Bolt first fletch job
I had some Bass pro money from X-mas burning a hole in my pocket.
I picked up the Arizona EZ fletch Bolt & a few other goodies to start repairing all my damaged arrows.
I followed the instructions & I think my first fletch job looks pretty good. Man this is a sweet tool & if I can do it anybody can.. LOL
I just had a bit of a time getting the old glue off the shaft. I can use a few tips from the pros on the removal of the old glue.
Now if they fly as good as they look I will be self sufficient in the arrow dept...

Looks great! I have been using a utility knife to scrape off the glue on carbon and aluminum ever since I have been playing with arrows. I always wipe the shaft off with acetone when glue is off.

Looks pretty good Jeff, I have 2 Arizona's and love them. I've been fletching arrows for years and I still use a dull pocketknife and scrap off the glue and then use fine sandpaper to finish. I then wipe off the sandpaper dust and then clean the shaft with denatured alcohol to prep the shaft. I also use loctite gel now after trying just about everything to fletch my arrows this seems to me to be the best I've used in years.
Good luck and have fun.

There is a tool called a Zip Strip , it works great and it will not harm your shaft. The head is shaped to fit the shaft and you just push it down the shaft under the fletching.

Thanks for the info on the glue. I bought the Bohning Fletch-tite Platinum glue. We will see how it holds up..Hester0305 wrote:Looks pretty good Jeff, I have 2 Arizona's and love them. This is one of those things I should have started to do a long time ago because I tend to damage alot of arrows...

Re: Arizona EZ Fletch Bolt first fletch job
Congratulations Jeff, nice work. I'll pass along a suggestion I got from Boo and it works perfectly. Take a clean glass jar such as a small pasta jar, and fill it with enough acetone to take your Bolt E-Z Fletch jig and submerge it until the arms are covered. Leave it for a minute or two and clean the arms. I've found, thanks to Don, that this is the most effective way to clean the jig.

Nice work Bellriver! I made my first-ever arrows this year using the EZ Fletch also, what a great job it does! Me and my buddy took two deer and a hog with them this year, and I had the very same thought, if I can do it anybody can
