335 Nightmare "arra" configuration

Post by amythntr »

...I am looking to shoot the following configuration with my 335 Nightmare" 8) :

....the only thing that I am not sure of is whether to stay with the 16.5 inch arrows or cut em down to 15 or 15.5"...this is what I come up with the cut down version (using the Gold Tip Academy Calculator):

15":

ZS 15x 9.1= 136.5 g,
Insert= 92 brass-lock 'n loads= 92g,
100g Spitfire MAXX= 100g,
Nocks- NuFletch Ignitors= 39g,
Low profile vanes= 3.1g/vn= 9.3g
Total 376.7g, FOC=18.6%, KE=91.1 at 330fps

15.5":

ZS 15.5x 9.1= 141.1 g,
Insert= 92 brass-lock 'n loads= 92g,
100g Spitfire MAXX= 100g,
Nocks- NuFletch Ignitors= 39g,
Low profile vanes= 3.1g/vn= 9.3g
Total 381.37g, FOC=18.4%, KE=92.2 at 330fps

Its all personal preference on how long you want them. Stick out beyond the stirrup or not. Me im going to 16" everything i have but the shwackers will be inside.

15" works well for me Anthony. Now that I'm trying the 100 grain Spitfire Maxx, 15.5" will do fine as well. That's what I like anyway! :wink:

I shot the 125 Gr. on a 16" Gold Tip Laser 2 Pro with 110 brass in front and aluminum nock, and hard twist Blazers. They went into the same hole as the field points out to 30 yds. Have not tried them beyond that distance. I an thinking about trying some BE Zombies at 15 or 15 1/2. I am staying with the Slick Tricks.

No, I'm a big fan of anything NAP. My buddy uses Slicks, Griz Trix. I might have to give some a try.

I'm thinking about getting a nightmare in the near future.

My question is, I already have BEE'S from BOO for my 355 (that I'm looking at trading in/selling) .

The BEE's are 18in with 110 gr Brass inserts and high right helical blazer vanes and NuFletch Ignitor Nocks. I use 100 Gr Grim Reaper X-Bow Razor tips or 100 Gr Grim Reaper Hybrids.

What length/weight/adjustments do you think I should ask the local shop to make the BEE'S if I use them for the Micro?

Thanks in advance
