I will be making a Flemish dacron string for my axiom.
I know my stock string is 32 strand.
How many do you suggest id like durability over speed but don't want to lose much speed.
What do you suggest.

28 is a good #, maybe 26 strands on the 175lb model

Keep in mind that the more strands you use, the slower the creep.

How much speed loss if I go a 38 instead of 28 im sure I've read that its not much, possibly boo's website.
Before I got my crossbow not long ago I made a 28 strand, didnt quite know the measurements and made it a bit long although I did shoot it.

I would go 32 strands. It's the standard size, a bit more than necessary but again, creep will be reduced at a cost of a few ft/sec.

I made it with 32 strands just to stick with the stock string, just waiting for it to stretch.
