what size rings do I need for my micro??

Post by JLH »

The stock rings aren't tall enough for the nikon, so I ordered new rings....they came, but apparently there is a size issue.... (very new to this scope thing)
Need a little insight here.
thanks!

I'm in the exact same boat and I'm buying medium rings this weekend.

The Nikon Bolt Xr has a 1" tube and I used Weaver Medium Tactical rings to mount the scope on my Equinox.

That's exactly what I'm looking for....

and the width of the rail?
I guess I could measure, but don't have the bow with me at the moment.

Thanks

If it was just slightly off I would file down the base to fit to maintain the lowest scope mounting possible.

This is right..you can file down the front tabs on your scope mount..I almost did it to mine as I wanted my scope as low as possible but not wanting to start cutting I ordered some weave 1" medium mounts from ebay. while they aren't fancy mounts they are comparable to the factory ones ..I think were less than 6 bucks shipped..

I had to file another slot into my non-ADF scope mount rail to enable my preferred eye relief per talking with Dan & Boo. My rail came with 5 slots and now it has 6.

I got the Red Hots, 1" medium height from Cabelas, $20, and solid as an anvil!

I just installed the Nikon using the Millett mediums, 14$ fits like a glove with very little clearance just how I like it!
