How about string replacement?...Simple 5 minute operation...
How about tuning?...None
How about the need for a bow shop for setup/repair?...None

Simple construction and awesome reliability...

If you really want a comparison . Hit search , use Horton as search criteria , use Sandman as author . You should be able to find some info or his e-mail address . He has a Horton and an Excalibur and should be able to give you an informed critique ......

guest : I did the search for ya ... here are some quotes from previous threads ........
Up until about a week ago I was shooting a Horton Super Mag and now I have an ExoMax. The Horton is retired! I can only speak for my experience with the two and Excal wins hands down. My Horton never gave me any reason to be unhappy with it but then ago it never made me totally happy either (if that makes any sense). In the little time I have had my Excal (only fired it about 50 times now) it beats my Horton hands down!! I can honestly say that I am very satisfied with my investment and very very happy with Excal!!

Just my opinion from up here in the cheap seats.
Cheers
I'm actually putting my Horton out to pasture this year and making room for the new Excalibur . I cant say that my Horton ever failed me once in the field and never needed and warranty work. But, all it took was an afternoon out with my buddy and his Excalibur and I had to have one! Thought I would keep the Horton for my son to start on.......but now considering starting him with a Vixen? Having used both Horton and Excalibur my personal choice hands down is the Excalibur!

But, then again that's just my opinion from up here in the cheap seats.
As you can see he gives the Horton a fair review since it did him well in the past . If you leave a message for him I'm sure he will reply ..... Now that he has had an Excalibur for awhile , he should be able to give you a better critique .....

Xbow Comparison.

Post by maddog »

Hi,
I have a Horton and Excalibur. I prefer the Xcalibur for reasons already stated in the forum. The big DISADVANTAGE of an Xcaliber is that it is Bigger! It is harder to carry and shoot from a tree stand. Other than that, it is one fine, accurate, trouble free bow.

Thanks for putting the forum thread in RJ.

I have had my Excal for almost 5 months now and put probably about 300-350 bolts down the rail and the only problem that I have encountered with it turned out to be "THE OLD GREY FAT FELLA ON THE TRIGGER (ME)!"  But thanks to RJ & RED LABEL who took time out of their busy schedules to give me a helping hand and all is well now.

I actually had both my Max and Horton out shooting last weekend and all I can say is I am very glad that I invested in Excalibur!!!

Again, I cant say that my Horton had ever failed me! The best comparison that I can make is the difference between taking a 1971 Datsun B210 (canary yellow{my first car}) for a test drive and then testing a 2004 BMW 7 series out!

I hope that I have not offended anyone with my comparison (and if I have my apologies) but having "test driven" both models this is "my" opinion of the two.

But, as always this is just my opinion from up here in the cheap seats!!
