thanks for the post-can you compare the "sweetness" of both the triggers? For example-is it worth the extra cash to go for the triggertech to get 100% "sweetness" or is a cheaper reworked stock trigger a better value to get say 75% "sweetness".

How much did it cost for you to have your trigger reworked by BOO? I know how much a triggertech is and I had one on my previous Excalibur.

thanks alot
I do not remember what Don's fee was, other than it in same vicinity cost wise. I do believe the TT unit is lighter poundage so it would be unfair to compare in that regard. Both are crisp and clean. I have had a few issue with TT unit not re cocking if you stop on ADF when uncocking. It would appear to me that if you don't hold ADF down hard enough and it catches string, I need to pull trigger in order to get it to latch back on full cock before uncocking again. Might just be me but it throws you when it will not record in this situation. On my unit if I do this I can simply pull back and recoil and then uncock, TT does not permit this, might be me but it repeats itself every time I try it so gotta think it is part of TT system?

You can drop some bucks on a replacement trigger and get nothing you don't already have - a "functioning" trigger.
LOL! It certainly AIN'T like swappin' arrows IMO.

There is "function" and then there is Much Superior Function

Many folks simply prefer a Very Fine and Very Crisp Trigger.
In my case, I have a handful of high end long range rifles. Each of those carries a custom trigger of some sort or another. For both hunting and target shooting, these things SHINE, and as many here have noted, they can (and do in most cases) actually make you a better Shooter.

When I got my 380, the trigger was "serviceable". And I did notice with time and extensive use it did get a little better. But being used to the fine triggers in my rifles, I was always pining for something akin to those.

The first Trigger Tech I installed was the two-stage Hunter. It REALLY brought a Smile to my face, and within a very short order my shooting improved (keep in mind we constantly shoot at ranges out to 100 yards). Then I decided to give the Single Stage a whirl. Took a little getting used to again, but again, I saw another little increase to my shooting abilities.

These Triggers are VERY Fine, Very Consistent, and actually might be just a hint better than the custom ones in several of my rifles.

Many will be quite fine with the stock triggers. For those such as I who are seeking Perfection from their bow, I would not hesitate to recommend Trigger Tech! Their products Ups this to a whole new level! Really!!
In fact I doubt I'll ever own another bow without one.

You are quite welcome to come along when we shoot and see first hand what I am talking about. Bring your bow, and let's see just what that seemingly little difference (it's only a trigger after all  ) makes out at 100 yards...

I agree totally! Until you have used a triggertech-you dont know how good a trigger can be made(and you dont want to go back)I just needed to know how good a reworked trigger is as I have not shot one .

I believe that triggertech is now making high end triggers for tenpoint, parker.(I think)

I have caught my 2 stage TT on the ADF a couple of times and it recocked without touching the trigger again both times. It is not the TT system apparently.

Done the same with both the Single & Two Stage TT Triggers. Never seen this particular issue.

been told this is a known issue. its suppose to be a weak spring in early versions of the trigger. being told it was only an issue for early models but we as owners should compare notes to make sure.my 2 stage will re-set about every 5 or 6 times uncocking my crossbow if i dont pull back and hold on the trigger while letting down.i got my trigger about a month after they came on the market so its an early one. its annoying because if the trigger re -sets and you dont see it the crossbow wont cock and going forward will catch the ADF . im sending it my 2 stage back after my season ends this week. the work around ive found is to fully hold the trigger in and all the way back while pushing in the ADF lever while letting the string down. if you just squeeze off the trigger and let it come back the trigger will re-set. hope that makes cense.

I'm not sure if this is what Hunt It was describing, but I have had my TT latches stay down after uncocking and even after firing. I was told it's from improper follow through. In other words, the trigger isn't held long enough after the release and the latches bounce back to the locked position after releasing the string.

I have owned a Boo trigger, a factory polished trigger and now I own two TriggerTech 2-stages. There is no comparison to be made IMO. The polishing helps, but that's it.

When it comes to the Micro and the 405, I have been told that there isn't much anyone can do to slick these ones up because the sear surfaces are Teflon coated.

do you have an early model? i was told it was a trigger spring and that the issue can be fixed but may add a little weight to the trigger pull.if this is part of the design im not happy. you shouldnt have to pull and hold the trigger all the way to the rear. after all i thought we are paying for a crispy precision rifle trigger.

Boo's trigger jobs are awsome. He does a super job smoothing the factory triggers up. They are much like a VERY good double action revolver when he's done. They have travel, but its smooth as silk.
The Trigger Tech triggers are either single stage or two stage. Neither have "creep". The single stage breaks clean like a good rifle trigger, the two stage trigger is much like an Anschutz target trigger. There is a "first stage" take up to a wall, then the second stage breaks clean as glass.
Both are great improvements on the factory triggers. It depends more on what type of trigger you prefer, rather than which is better.
Also the factory triggers in the new Micros are pretty good triggers. Sometimes you can find one of those that folks have replaced and get it for a song. Not a bad option.

I had the trigger assembly from my Phoenix worked on by Boo several years ago and it is the sweetest pull you could ever ask for!
I have a Savage .223 with an Accutrigger, and have to say that the bow has the better release!
Amen!

I've had the T.T. 2.5lbs hunter matrix and now have the two stage 1.5lbs Target Trigger. They're both excellent. I've also had a boo trigger job that I've put in a vortex and couldn't believe it was the same trigger. There's no perceived creep and it feels like about a 2lbs single stage trigger. When I put a boo trigger in my M380 it didn't feel as light as in the vortex, it felt more like about a 2.5-3lbs single stage but again with no perceived creep. I'd say try a boo trigger job first, definitely worth the money. I just put a boo trigger in my soon to be shown vixomax blackout 350 and it's awesome. Either way you can't go wrong.

I put a TT single stage in my 380 Lynx, what a great triger and what more could I want, Best $130.00 I spent, like it so well my 380 Mad Max got the same treatment!!! You can't go wrong with the TT, the double stage is more money and not my cup of tea, but have heard great things from those that like a 2-stage trigger.

i have both style trigger techs. i dont all the take up on the 2 stage and the issue of the resetting of the trigger will get fixed soon. they do beak clean but prefer the single stage. i have Danny Miller trigger jobs that are nice too! my Micro triggers arent worth changing. its great there are a few options and that even the new Excalibur triggers have been awesone too

Hi,

If you are experiencing auto-cocking on our triggers, please just give us a call at 1-888-795-1485 or email at [email protected]. If you have an early model (2013) and are experiencing auto-cocking, it is possible that it is an early lighter latch spring. For the most part, this spring worked just fine. But, for some reason on some bows and some shooting types, auto-cocking would occur. So, we put in a heavier spring. This does not affect pull weight. We are happy to help with those that are experiencing auto-cocking on a regular basis.

The actual release event is what we market as rifle-like. The over-travel after the release is unique to crossbows. This is because the lever has to clear far out of the way of the latch. You don't experience this extremity in firearms so your over-travel can be close to nothing. This is why, in general and specifically, with crossbows, it is very important to have follow-through and not just tap or slam off the shot. The over-travel inherent in crossbow releases leads to a slap-back condition. This condition is amplified by not following through with your shot.

Cheers,

TT
