Does Anyone Use These On Their Stirrup?

Post by StormDragon »

I came across these on limbsavers website while looking for something for my stirrup and was wondering if anyone uses them. They look like they would do the trick to help the vibration some. I tried paracord at first but found that the fletching was hitting it and deflecting the arrow so round 2

Heres the site: http://www.limbsaver.com/product/limbsa ... tor-strip/

Thanks in advance

That's a tough call being the shooter and all. Does it tame sound and vibration, I'd say yes. How much...don't know??? It's uncomplicated and adds some protection too.

Tried them on my vortex. Cut them and tied them on with zip ties. Couldn't really hear any difference. Even recorded it with my phone and no diff.

The only add-on w/ my Y-25 is a set of STS's and they were a gift is why I use them.

I've shot 3@ of deer, turkey, hogs and 1 cow buffalo. My xbow makes no noises. As a matter of fact, at last Boofest I attended, Bill T commented on how quiet it is.........

Thanks everyone. I think I might get a roll of heat shrink tape and wrap it than cover that with something like grip tape.

That or just use electrical tape and then grip tape.

Any other suggestions/thoughts? I'm trying to lessen the vibration a little more, sound is gonna be there I understand

Yep, sound IS always going to be there! A good string with cat whiskers is your best bet, heavier arrows. I do have extra LimbSavers George if you want to try them? Just PM if interested.

I put on a set on my matrix 380 stirrup since the last one I owned made a tinny sound when hitting a couple branches. So far it seems to make a difference but I'll find out for sure when my target hopefully shows up today so I can get it sighted in. My older exomax was very quiet compared to the 380 but I'm sure the deer won't know the difference. I may try a set of those also on the sides of bbl but I believe alot of the noise is from the stirrup.

Oh yeah, they definitely help with the tinny sound when something hits the stirrup. Now it's just a dead clunk. But I didn't hear a difference on shot noise. It's probably there, I just can't hear it. :)

I use Camo Form to wrap the stirrup on my 380:

Pretty Tough Stuff. Thin (doesn't interfere with vanes) damn near completely deadens any perceived vibrations, and when combined with a Boo String with Whiskers, does Quiet the bow down some. And Looks Marvelous!

Good Electrical tape is useless when wet, and has little abrasion properties

I had same problem with my para cord wrapped stirrup, the vanes would just touch the cord, so I re-did the wrap leaving a small space for the vanes to clear, and there was no difference in sound compared to when the stirrup was fully wrapped.
