Texas Youth Turkey Season

Post by flightattendant100 »

The Texas Youth Spring Turkey Season is this weekend. Colton has a band UIL competition this morning, but we'll be there this afternoon...... With "His" new Micro! Will let you know how it turns out. Our turkey numbers are way down from just s couple of years ago.

DADS BAD!!!!!! Got to the lease abut 3:00 , out in field before 4:00. First lace we set up got ZERO response. Picked up and moved to creek about 6:30. Almost immediately we got a response . See bird coming in, then second(a hen) then from across the creek another bird is hot foot in' it in. We have got a real hen, a jake and a Tom along with the hen decoy. Colton starts trying to tell me something, I'm pretty deaf and we are about 10 yards apart . He doesn't shoot.... and he doesn't shoot ..... and he doesn't shoot... by this time I know something is bad wrong.... Yep... Battery died DEAD in red dot sight!!!! Dad is in dog house, going to supper and have some Alpo! maybe tomorrow will be better

Had that happen to me once .
After that I went to illuminated reticles . Dead battery you still have something to aim with .
Colton will have a lot more mishaps in his life . That is what makes us better each time . :)

Ron, I've got it sighted in with Swhackers but have some FOC's coming. I figured a Micro could push one of those through a turkey.
