Guste,

Projectile placement is the key. Through the lungs it is usually about equal. 5 seconds or 10 seconds is not a whole lot of difference is it?

Now, why do you REALLY ask?

Shot placement is everything ! A bad shot means a bad recovery ... doesn't matter if it's a bow or gun ....

As someone mentioned before ... both weapons are deadly in the hands of an experienced hunter !

Because I wanted to know how a crossbow works in huntig situation and I have no experience with it.
Must there always be a deeper meaning?

Please forgive us "Guest" for being suspicious in nature.
We here at the Excalibur Forum are like a re-run episode of cheers;

Making your way in the world today takes everything you've got.
Taking a break from all your worries, sure would help a lot.
Wouldn't you like to get away?
Sometimes you want to go, where everybody knows your name,
and they're always glad you came.
You wanna be where you can see, our troubles are all the same
You wanna be where everybody knows your name.
You wanna go where people know, people are all the same,
You wanna go where everybody knows your name.
You want to go where people know, people are all the same;
You want to go where everybody knows your name.
:D

Just my opinion from up here in the cheap seats!!

Dear Guest - That is a fair question.
The crossbow works exactly the same as a long bow, a recurve bow or a compound bow would work. I believe that the gentlemen of the Ex-site have adequatley and accurately described the effect of an arrow being shot from a bow on a big game animal.

It is important to realize that a crossbow gives you no advantage over any other form of archery. This is as direct as I can be without looking for a "deeper meaning" to your question.
It's better to be hated for who you are than to be loved for who you are not!

Thank you very much for your requests.
We people here in Europe don't know much about hunting with bows or crossbows.
So please forgive me, if I've asked a silly question.

Cheers

Guest,

You don't know if you don't ask, therefore no question is really silly. Except for when you ask someone where the keys are and they're in your hand.

I believe that was the theme from the old CHEERS show .........

The richard that wrote this, pm me with your real name and when we can meet. From my past experience I have always found that it is best to deal with people like you in person.

It's true, I am the real "Richard". (Maybe an admin can compare the ip's?)
But some the comments in this forum show, how unprofessional and weak people can be. I'm sorry for that.
("is this Seaseme Street?", "I believe that was the theme from the old CHEERS show .........")
I said that I'm new and that I apologise for that.

Other people here helped me with good informations and I want to thank them!

(this was the last post for me in this forum, so any "Richards" that could follow are faked!)

Bye.
