So are these made out of steel or aluminum? They will be less prone to failure than the excalibur ones then? Looks like you have the inside of the hooks polished and smooth. Very nice.

Mike they are made from 3/8" aluminum . I don't think they will scratch the bow the way they are made . I could send you a set for kong if you like just zombies your address

I have a set of original aluminum hooks on the first cocker that I bought.
They did not scratch the rail as it is harder than the hooks.
It is however difficult to keep a coating of any kind on the hooks.

i think as well that for the amount of time a fellow is going to load your bow especially the high poundage bows like 380 and 405 bare alum would be the best bet and give them a little spray of silicone once in a while ,not sure if woodys arrow lube would do the trick i use it on arrows at 3d shoots so its already on arrows and my rail.

On mine the original black coating applied by Excalibur has peeled from pressure against the rail.
I may try to replace the coating with truck bed liner or something similar.
If it's going to keep peeling then I'll leave them bare aluminum.

the ones in the picture i did for mike are powder coat i have my own oven. it may peel as well but i put them in a brass tumbler for a couple days with sandblasting sand to round the edge .i hope the roughness makes the powder cpoat bond better
