Post by vixenmaster »

I jus killed a 2 1/2 ft long by 1 1/2 maybe 1 3/4" dia. Copperhead snake, right out my kit-chen cabin door. My furbabies were pitchin a fit so i got up to ck it out. Put my shovel on his head n made him a flat-head

Good job Mike! I have seen people all swelled up an black, blue, purple from there bites. we have them around here in the river hills for sure but not seen one for years.my buddy collects them an says best thing is to lay a piece of tin or sheet of plywood on the ground an keep checking under it.

That's the only good snake-a dead snake! I hate (fear) snakes. We just got back from FL. I killed a coral snake right out on the street. It was at least the 4th coral snake killed in the RV park this year. About the same time, a K9 dog from the Tampa police was bitten by a 4 1/2 ft eastern diamondback. I gotta hand it to UPSMAN and Fuzzy hunting turkeys in FL or anyone hunting the deep south. I'd need a full body snake suit! I hate them!

most snakebites are the fault of people drinking and /or doing stupid things

If I see an eastern diamondback on the road I take out my snake hook and put him on the side of the road. Hunters should realize that all creatures have their purpose: except mosquitoes and ticks

I certainly don't hunt down snakes of any kind to kill them. I do clean them out from around my cabin. They are very hard to see in the leaves at nite! We need no bites on any of us on my place.

I inspect gas lines and do environmental impact studies for Panhandle Eastern in the Texas panhandle area. I am in the field 90% of the time. I see more snakes (mostly diamondbacks) in a day then most see in a lifetime. Norm (coolhl) you are one of the most enlightened forum members posting on this thread. Most people will kill snakes for being snakes, it is just ridiculous.

More people are killed every year from bear attacks then from snake bites. The only good bear is a dead bear?
