turkey and rage surgical broadhead?
I shot a tom with a rage surgical broadhead with my phoenix xbow.i,m sure it was a good broadside hit as he jumped on impact and the jakes didn't move.he walked around for a bit and walked away with the others.I found the arrow in the ground parallel up to the quivers and the mechanical broadhead hadn't opened at all.the plastic collar was still in tacked.I used these broadheads on deer last fall and was very satisfied.Has anyone else had a problem with turkeys.I always used spitfires before and no problems just trouble finding them any more.

I know there are MANY that love and swear by the rage but in my solitary experienceI I also had a non opener on a heart shot hog. That's my only experience with them. Sorry for your lost gobbler, what an absolute shame. On a positive note, if I had a product to market, I'd want to hire the Rage team for the marketing, they ARE very good at that.

About 5 years ago I was using a Rage mechanical while turkey hunting. Got a tom in range and took the shot. Hit the bird hard as he was knocked off his feet. He then left the scene rather quickly. Never found him and I looked hard for him. Found the arrow and the blades did not deploy.
Another time the blades opened but one appeared to have broke off. Did manage to get another arrow (Montec g5) in and take the bird.
Have not used Rage or any other mechanicals since.

Agreed. I'm currently using the toxics but am very impressed with the QAD Exodus as well.bob watkins wrote:thats the one bh i refuse to spend money on . slicks tricks or ramcats have never failed me jmo

Sorry to hear about your tom.
I have yet to shoot a turkey with an arrow but I've decided to use a mechanical backed up by a adder/stopper. Can't wait to see the results!
