Swhacker Question

Post by confederate »

I was wondering how common the issue of the Swhacker damaging your arrow shaft is.

Confederate,
Not sure about arrow damage, but I purchased 3 packs from different retailers and the blades were very dull in all 3 packs :(

I've read and seen pics where when the blades come back they strike below the insert so hard that they damage the arrow. They defiantly touch the arrow but I haven shot one to see if they damage it. Only shot the practice head

i heard they fixed the issue this year. I use a dremel and remove a touch off the back of the blades where they would contact the shaft/insert.

This is what I've done. The washer method seems better, though.

By adding an extra washer yall must mean one that is wider than the insert. I have seen that they are coming out with a 3 blade. It looks good but it's only 1 1/2 inch cut. I'm still interested in it tho. I wonder if they really fixed the issue with the 2 blades this year. Guess I can email and ask them.

I killed 3 turkeys with Swhackers. All 3 heads suffered bent blades and could not be used again. Switched to a fixed blade a never looked back.

Yup bingo. My older swhackers do damage my arrow and insert. Like said supposed to be fixed for this year. They also have a new 3 blade swhacker. Looks awesome.

I bought a new pack of 2" Swhackers at my local Bass Pro last week. I shot one yesterday and it dinged the insert and shaft.

The new low poundage and 3 blade should deal with the shaft damage issue
