The Colton Project" ( youth stock for Micro)

Post by flightattendant100 »

Well since the day I got the Micro in early March, Colton has just been enamored with the little black booger. Only problem has been it is a full size stock, and he is a little bitty kid, stature wise. So I talked to Danny Miller and got some ideas, then a few days later, a black stock showed up at my house. Thanks, Danny. It s an older Excal stock, and I started to cut it down. I cut 3/4" out of the butt portion and glued it back together. Then I swept a radius( fillet) with Acraglass and Microballoons( you would have to use Microballoons on a Micro, right?) mixed to a putty like consistency. Last I sprayed it with Rustoleum Truck Bed Spray. The forend was shortened to make it in proportion for the Micro, so there were some voids in the forend to fill as well. Colton wanted it skeletonized like the original micro stock so I cut a hole in butt stock and polished a bit. A little fitting on the cheek piece and it was good to go.
I think it all turned out well and so far it has held up very well. It suites Colton much better than the full size stock.ImageImageImageImageImageImage
The bow has a TT trigger and red lever, a Leupold Crossbones scope, in Leupold Rifleman rings. It has a "Magic Miller" yellow and black Flemish string.

Wow, that looks great! It would be nice to see a Micro with the cub stock on it from the factory.

That's great work, Paul. I'm making a Vixen III on a Micro platform for my son and I was wondering how I could make a mini-stock for the little guy. If I can get my hands on a stock, I'll be sending you a PM for pointers. Thanks for the great post.
