Trophy Ridge Rocket Hammerheads Discontinued!

Post by Riflemanz »

The 3 blade 2" cut hammerhead has been discontinued,
I just talked to their customer service rep. I love this BH!
I hope they come out with a new model 2" 3 blade that's easy to replace blades!

Years ago, when Rocket Arrowheads were still owned by Rocket Arrowheads, they had a broadhead called the Buckblaster. It was a three blade mechanical with a chisel tip and each blade was 2 3/4" long. I used them for a brief time and actually shot my first archery black bear with one. Once you shot it the blades had to be replaced but oh my gosh that thing made a hole you could put your fist through. It was a great head for thin skinned game like medium sized bears and deer.

I would really like to see the 100 grain 2" cut 4 blade come back! it made HUGE holes in deer.

Norm, are you talking total two inch cut or two inch blade length?

2" cut. I like these as well. They're pretty much single use but at the rate I arrow deer I won't run out for a few years.

Paul, the Rocket Hammerhead 4 blade (left in photo) is a true 2" x 2" cut. In the photo the blade is turned in relation to the ruler but is a true 2" cut.
The NAP 170 grain FOC is on the right.

Thanks Norm. When I shot mechanicals Rockets were the best I had tried. I still have nib packs of Rocket Steelheads that I really liked. Too bad they dropped the hammerhead.....get it?.....dropped the hammer...head! I'll keep my day job.

I prefer their Sidewinder for the longer tip so deflections are a non-issue. But I have shot Hammerheads and have no complaints about them except for getting blood everywhere. I've never had to track a deer hit with a hammerhead. They always run out of blood before they can make it out of sight.

I've always thought adding a slightly longer tip to the 2" head pushing it up to 125gr would make it perfect.

Ok Riflemnz thank for the heads up. I had to go check as I also love to shoot Trophy Ridge Hammerheads. Went to check my supply in blade box have seven left and a couple of decks of replacement blades. I shoot or did shoot 100 gr. 2 inch blades. My two choice of blades is the hammer head or slick trick 100 gr fixed. Either one works well for me. Probably not the best shot on the forum but they have worked well for this old gal. I will check out the local archery store to see if they have any left in stock.
