Hernia Operation.

Post by Dale »

Well , Had my hernia operation today, early afternoon. Being put under is the best I have slept in many years. Was home by mid afternoon. Feeling well rested, I am a bit tender from the operation. Haven't taken any meds yet. Doc told me NO lifting, pulling pushing for 6 weeks. After that I should be right as rain. Can't even ride my motorcycle. Oh well, should be healed up fine by deer season. Cheers Gents.

Hope they got the right side! I get another one I will mark a big X for the cutting open side. On a bright note I got $35 000 for the mistake.

which one was it? I had inguinal hernia surgery the middle of March. Was off work 6 week, and then Dr released me with no restrictions but said to use my head as it can take up to a year to heal completely. Was able to cock a 380 before surgery and cannot cock the 355 now so have the 310 & 330 as my crossbows ;)

Ya. I have the exomax, so I hope I will be able to cock it. It is 225 pound. Most of the matrix crossbows are much stronger pull. But the surgery is pretty sore now.

I wish ya speedy recovery.

The worst operation I had was from Flesh Eating Bacteria. I was on my death bed by the time I got to the hospital(the second time around).

You'll be healed up in no time. Just don't do anything stupid. I had four inguinal hernia repairs since I was fifteen! Two on each side. but all different ages. I agree, it is the best sleep under the anesthesia ! :) maybe that's why I had four?! Heal up , take it easy , and get ready for deer season.

During my career with the Railroad repairing rail cars and re-railing them after derailments I have had them repaired 3 times...

Last time Did Not Go So Good. ..when trying to take me off ventalator my lungs "Shut down ". This all started at about 10:30 AM following surgery.... After some time they removed the anasteseolgist [sp ?] from the room and brought in a team of 5 specialists. I woke up in ICU at 8:30 pm with 2 IV's running in each arm. My wife told me that at one point the surgeon took her aside and told her it was 50/50 that I would recover.

This all took place after I had told the anastesiolgist that previous Dr's warned against putting me " clear under " as they had delt with me for the same condition following previous surgeries. I told her that the night before surgery during a phone conversation, and again before the surgery...... She assured me it would be "Gas and a Local".. A BIG LIE ON HER PART!!!

Maybe that should have been a big "Pay Day" too. :?:

Glad your's went so much better  Take it easy for awhile and listen to your doctor and you should be fine.

I, been off the pain meds since Wednesday at 8o'clock. Getting in or out of bed hurts like hell. Layinh flat or recloning is fairly painless. Coughing is a new dimention of pain. So was my little dog deciding to jimp on my lap. Just wish the swellimg would start to.go down.
