Which is your favourite crossbow model?
Hi,
which crossbow model do you prefer?
How many own the new Exomax and is the Exocet still the most used crossbow from Excalibur?
Let's get it started...

I prefer my Vixen for target shooting, but prefer my Paradox huinting.
We do have members that ONLY shoot their Relayer, Wolverine or Paradox

This is interesting. I thought that the Vixen is more a hunting bow and the Paradox more for target shooting because is Vixen is more "simple" constructed. (Better for the hunt?)Digger wrote:I prefer my Vixen for target shooting, but prefer my Paradox huinting.
Or is it because the Paradox is more compact?
Feel like a traitor - voted Vixen & own Exocet
Actually, I think if more people had a chance to own & shoot a Vixen they would appreciate the ease of cocking and outstanding accuracy & balance. I owned a Vixen first, but wanted a little more speed fo hunting. The Exocet is a great crossbow, but it's just a bit strenuous to cock all day. The Vixen's shorter power stroke & lighter weight made it almost easy. I do plan to own another Vixen someday, or even better - a Vixen power stroke with an exomax riser!
If you read this one Bill T. - don't forget my idea! I'll be happy to test & promote the idea

The Paradox/ maxpoint is two fast( 340fps )to use in IBO sanctioned shoots. I have been shooting Excals for over a dozen years and have owned or handled all but emax. All excals are concidered hunting bows except for the Point Blanc(90lbs) which is an excellent target bow. You take your strenths and advantages you have and pick your xbow.
I,m also saying your poll left off three good Excalibur prducts and sort of negates the result of your poll.

These xbows are not listed as they have been discontinued by the manufacturerThe Relayer from '83- '85 the Wolverine from'86 - ''92, the Paradox was discontinued last year but many members and Excal. owners still have and use them regularly.

Have you tried the ExoHerniaMax? I love the power, but I'm restricted to a cocking aid everytime or the ends of my fingers look blue while they are lying on the ground. (I usually get the feeling back in my fingers by the next day)The Exocet is a great crossbow, but it's just a bit strenuous to cock all day.

I didn't vote either. My current favourites are my original carved tip Vixen and my new Exomax....both ends of the spectrum. Each fills a different set of needs.
If I had to sell all but one however, I would keep only my Deluxe Exocet. IMHO it is the most versatile of them all, and a pleasure to shoot.

I own an Exomag, but got it as a result of a mistake on the part of the company that I ordered from. I ordered an Exocet they sent the Mag instead. I kept it. I love the Mag, but have considered trying to trade it for an Exocet but have gotten used to it. I love the accuracy and speed, and with hunting season fast approaching, I will wait. However, if someone out there has an Exocet that they would like to trade, maybe we could work something out later.
The exomag is the only Xbow I own. I chose it because at the time it was the heaviest poundage bow Excal. made. 99% of my hunting is done by still hunting, I love moving around real slowly in the bush and try to walk up on deer, although its only been with a rifle. I've gotten pretty good at it, and now want the challenge with a Xbow. I chose the Exomag for the extra power when the distance is greater. Soon find out this fall.
