Although I still shoot my verticals, I hunt very little with them do to shoulder issues, age, etc. The Excals. have pretty much taken most of my hunting time now, I have not gun hunted the last season. Soooo..

If the leaves are turning, and hitting the ground, look in the trees, that's where I'll be found.
High in my climber, no better place to be, and I'll have one of Matrix Excals. right there with me! :D

Simple one little phrase:

Simplistic Reliability.

I can depend on my bow to work properly. In fact I have only had one minor problem in over 30 years of using the same bow.

I don't sleep with my Excalibur's though they are well liked, but anyway Bill T. built a bow that evolved into all I need; and in a durable product at a tolerable price point.
I like knowing the who, why, how, when and where of hunting items and knowing they are a result of real world experience and the people behind them have a true passion for their creations.
Support is there when needed.
Too ,Excalibur still cares about their clientele rather than playing the ol "there's more customers elsewhere if the current ones are not happy".
So, while the older model bows I have will rock n roll for years still and no great desire to upgrade them means they are tops in the industry, it's more than the bows themselves that offset them from others.
When I am out back of beyond the tools must function and be serviceable or they are not worth having and the field testing is not my goal.
Using them effectively as proven in practice is.
