A good string with wiskers is a great place to start.
If you have an ADF give 8ptbuk a holler and he will set you up with a nice string to help quiet it down.
But then so will Boo...nchunterkw...vixenmaster...xcalibur.... the list goes on.
They are all good string makers
I use 8ptbuk, Jack Pine, and Boo strings on my Matrix 330.
The other strings I use on my Matrix 310.
(its a personal preference thing)

I just swapped the REDS off of my 355 and installed Danny Miller's bumpers, very nice! Either way is an improvement though.

- a forty strand Flemish string with whiskers
- a heavy arrow....500gr +
- bumpers
- air brakes
- wrapped stirrup
- shrink wrapped arrow retainer
- foam or cloth filled rail
- limb savers and limb saver minis stuck on the rail and arrow retainer

The string stop systems are a good place to start. Danny Millers are about 1/2 price of Excals, and do as good a job and last at least as long.(740-483-2312) He doesn't do "on line". A second benefit, is a quick visual check of your brace height with bumpers. Might as well make life easy.
X2 the string w/whiskers, they seem to help as much as anything, but these bows just aren't ever going to be as quiet as your old verticle bow.

Any increased weight, in the form of string, arrow or thingies on limbs will reduce arrow speed by approx 1fps for each 3 grns of weight ....and will do very little for reducing bow noise. That's just the way it is with crossbows.

Agreed......but one plus with a heavier arrow is increased momentum = better penetration.

^^^ Did all this minus the filled rail... I think it's as quiet as it will get and it's nice n quiet now without the "ting" it had prior. Limbsaver stick ons the limbs and rail, wrapped the stirrup and air brakes... Oddly the biggest noise reduction was flemish strings with whiskers..
