Hi, wondering if anyone put the air brakes on their Micro and wondering what your thoughts are.

I did. and... meh.

Did it reduce noise... maybe a little.
Worth the 50-60 bucks extra. Nope.

Just my .02

You should call Danny Miller and ask him what he thinks about them. lol.

I put them on my 380 and my micro today
And they made the biggest improvement
on the 380.. The Micro was allready quite compared
to the 380.. But it did help with the Micro also, just not as much..
But i think my little M is by far the quietest excal i have owned!

I hate the db bars on the EXOs so I won't even give the Air Brakes a chance on my Matrix or Micro. IMO forward weight should be reduced at all costs, I find it easier to shoot offhand with less forward weight, so I'd never consider adding modestly effective accessories to the front end of my bows.

They do help reduce limb vibration. As far as noise reduction, the bigger the bow the more noise they reduce. Didn't notice much reduction on the 310.
I took them off the 310 and put them on the 330 and now they both sound about the same. I have heard that the rubber bumpers won't last long and when they wear out I will put limb savers on instead. I like the extra weight as it seems to help stabilize the front end when shooting free hand... I might have to wrap the stirrup with 6 ounces of lead tape when I remove them

I have not used the Air brakes but I do know that the Brake pads by Excal. do work well for quieting an Xbow plus they are a lot cheaper with no real added weight to your bow.

I have them on my 405, they made a big difference in two things. Noise was reduced. As was speed. Not that the 405 can't take a reduction in either. But if you're going for fastest on the market then don't use them, at 405 the prey will be shot through before they hear the report. If it bothers you then use them.

Do you have the bow mounted quiver ? I removed mine. If I had to carry arrows I would figure out a way rather than on the bow which ADDS WEIGHT.
I think the Air Brakes are worth it for what they did for my M330.

Too each their own.. But i have no desire for them at all for any bow of mine.I want my bow to be a slim light and fast machine.. Take that money and buy a titanium bolt package,, Now we are talking improvement..

I can just say one thing for sure is my 380 sounded like
I had hit a baseball with a bat before the airbreaks and
break pads.. And it helped a lot..Between the noise reduction and the less shock
Its just more enjoyable to shoot for me.. Can't help but think with the noise and vibration differnce it should help with less stress on the limbs..

Some of the " noise" you hear when shooting is actually vibration that you are feeling. Get a buddy to shoot your bow and stand beside/ behind him . You will be amazed at how much " quieter" your bow is when you aren't holding on to it.
I had bought the air brakes for Coltons Micro, but during turkey season he shot it with me about 5yrds to left and a couple ft behind. Heck that bow don't need nuttin. :D

unless 405 = 1125 i doubt that will happen.
