Guess it depends on who you ask. I only loctite my scope ring screw. I think I heard the Excal Guru (Boo) tell someone that he didn't use loctite at all. Flightattendant uses just a dabb of clear silicone on his fasteners. That holds them in place but it's easy to remove when you need to get them out.

I prefer to degrease the important factory fasteners and tap holes to remove any manufacturing oils which can contribute to fasteners loosening under vibration then tighten with well fitting tools without loctite.

I only use a very small dab of blue Loctite on the 4 scope mount screws.

Just found all four of my scope mounting screws loose. They have locktite on them now.

The only place I use loctite is the limb bolts (6 im total). I use green loctite after installing the bolts. Green loctite is a penetrating grade made for post assembly. It's a medium strength loctite.
I tighten the snot out of the other fasteners and none have come lose yet.
Norm is right, you should clean up the threads that have old, hardened loctite before reinstalling your fastener.
