New accessories showed up today!

Post by cajuntec »

Got some new Slick Trick XBow Tricks, spare blades, a Flemish Twist String, and a bow stringer today.

It is SO much faster and easier to use this stringer than what I was doing before (disassembling the bow and using my bow press), but I have to admit - I didn't realize how hard it was to cock one of these by hand with no cocking device. I had to put more muscle into it than I expected!

The package said to initially set the new string at about 1.5" behind the riser junction, because it would stretch after the first few shots. I set it there, and in the 15 minutes it's sat in the room, I've already seen it stretch. It's late, so I'll wait until tomorrow to shoot my field tipped bolts a bunch of times, sight in, and readjust the string as needed. Then it's off to test the new broadheads.

I've never shot Slick Tricks in any bow I've ever owned. But after looking at these, I just might have to try a set of 100 grain 'trick's in my compound bow as well. I like this design!

All the best,
Glenn

Slick Tricks shoot great I really love them. Congrats on your new accessories, I usually cock by Excal with a new string and leave it cocked overnight and it will get most of the stretch out of the string and then you can set your brace height.

In the dvd it shows them using the rope cocker to change a string. Hopefully that might make it easier on you.

Wow. Just checked on it - The string stretched quite a bit overnight. Moved 1/2" in brace height. I used the cocking rope with the stringer just now - MUCH easier. Put 4 whole twists in it and it's back at 1.5" as the pamphlet said to do. Going to shoot it tonight and see where it's laying after I'm done.

All the best,
