Vixen II and Wasp Jac-Hammer Penetration?

Post by Chris Dillard »

I have shot these heads when I used my old Exomax with great results. I plan on using fixed heads the majority of the time this year but the opening weeks of Bow Season always find me up my lucky Pecan Tree in a serious swamp in about 3-6 inches of water. I really liked the performance I had with the Jac Hammers in regards to putting deer down very quickly with the Exomax but I'm concerned about the difference in the kinetic energy of the Vixen in regards to a front opening expandable. Anybody use their Vixen with front deployable blades :?: Please share the good and bad. Thanks in advance :!:

When I used a Vixen (the old style black Vixen) I used them on 2213 aluminum arrows. Never failed to get a complete pass-through with a good (double lung) hit.

Guys I will be using the stock Easton FireBolts with the 100 grain JacHammers. Also thanks for the testimonials I'm feeling much better about using them in the Big Swamp!!
