todays trail cam pics

Post by terry-1 »

Here are a few pics I found in todays roll of film I picked up. This area is within 150 yards of the main bedding area in my area. This is a heavy used trail showing alot of wear leading from the bedding area to a small woodland pond which they water at. I have alot more day time pics on this roll with the cam being so close to the bedding area I think they are getting to the cam before dark and feeding around the area some even during the day. I used about 10lbs of corn around the area to hold them for the pics. I have two new bucks on this roll a 8pt and a six point I have not seen yet and a few bucks that I have several photos of already from a area about 3/4 mile away I had my cam on last week. I guess I know where those same bucks I have pics of already are bedding now anyway. Image Image Image Image

great shots!! Man that's entertaining!

One question, doesn't the trail camera photoelectric sensor shut the thing off during the daytime or can you adjust the sensitivity to daylight?

This is the cheapest Stealth camera is pretty simple it runs 24/7 and does not adjust sens of the the PIR. Seems to do a good job other than a few little things. I have to adjust the film load it must be watched real careful has the habit of not wanting to feed film all the time I am 100% on the film feeding now after learning alitte trick. The PIR FOV is very wide I put black tape over the outer edges to make the PIR more centered has stayed on for about 4 weeks and going even in rain.I have heard good and bad about these cams but other than the two things above which I have mastered now it works very well for me and I like the controls it is very easy to use and set up and takes good pics. Pir is alittle less in daylight do to riseing day time temps. Seems to be about 15ft daylight at 70-80 degrees. I have had 3 blank pics total in the last 4 rolls of film since narrowing the PIR so thats good. I bought this cam to use in higher risk of theif areas near my property lines as it is cheap, but It is working far better than I thought it would to be honest. I have another two cams they are both digital IR cams I am getting ready to move one out this weekend near my house on a food plot. Some of the bucks I have several photos of the last few weeks are really growing the antlers fast. The Fork horn buck above has put several inches on just in the last 2 weeks. I have been putting all my pics in a photo album at home and everyone that comes buy looks through all the pics. Even the young lady at Walmart photo center is glad to see me come in even though I pulled alittle joke on her one day. She ask how I was getting all of those deer pics. I told her I was sneaking up on them and takeing their pics. She said even after dark? I said sure why not.In the end I told her how I really did it even though I was enjoying that story.

Looks like you may need to do some "herd thinning" soon, though
