405 & FOC's

Post by GGC »

Didn't have a chance to hunt the Jersey opener. Not to worry, I hunt my own property and have more than enough deer. Went out this weekend and two deer are down. The FOC's cut like nothing I've seen before. One doe bled out so much, there was only a trace of blood in the pickup after the ride home, with the exit hole down. Tracking skills are not exactly needed, when you see them drop.
Took Sew's advice and I set up the bow late last season. And not a shot for the rest of the year.
Fast forward as things have changed rather quickly. They may be on all my arrows regardless of what bow I'm using. We have a looooong season, well into February and pretty much unlimited bag limits on does.
Looking forward to a good year.

I found the same in the past using the 170 gr. 3" FOC. This year the Micro Max 355, Matrix 380 and 405 will be using Black Eagle tipped FOC Nap's.

Just recently I zipped one through a bear and had a 20 yard recovery.
