New to crossbow/forum

Post by Coon Gravy »

Hi all, new to forum and the crossbow.
I'm a long time rifle hunter and just (3 months ago or so) got my first crossbow... went with the Grizzly for multiple reasons not the least of which was the price. It allowed me to have some extra $$ to spend on some more arrows/bolts, broadheads, etc. Also, I've got little kids and the vertical bow was requiring too much practice time for me and I was hoping the crossbow would be a little more forgiving. It is probably the best money I have spent in a while. The quality seems outstanding, and I split an arrow with it target shooting on my first post sight-in group. You learn quickly not to shoot the same spot twice. I think it's safe to say that having confidence to make a clean shot is important. I've also got a bunch of friends in Nebraska who shoot crossbows quite a bit because the rifle season is a week long there and bow/crossbow season is much longer. Anyhow enough about that.
Thanks so much for all the great info and experience you all share on the forum. Like many others I read it extensively before and after receiving my crossbow and have found great answers and advice many times on a variety of issues. I was really excited about the Matrix platform the first time I saw it in action because of the simplicity. I like to be able to do maintenance on my equipment at home and in the field and the recurve style allows me more of that. I've got some questions about a few things but I will get around to those in future posts (if I can't find the info). Just wanted to say Hello, and Thanks! A little less than 48 hours to opening day here, the slowest 48 hours.

Welcome aboard, congratulations on your fine crossbow. Make sure you understand brace height, and you'll be accurate, and your bow will behave just great.
Good luck this season.

Welcome to the forum!
I think the Grizzly will be a great bow for you.

I'm still using an old Phoenix, but when it wears out I'll move on to a new model. I have a feeling it might outlast me, though.
