Movement in upper receiver/latch
I have a slight amount of play in the upper part of my latch. The movement is all vertical up and down but it is enough to feel when handling the crossbow after a shot. I'm not sure if this is normal and I feel it after I shoot because it is able to move due to the fact that it isn't cocked and loaded with an arrow, but I felt enough movement that I actually thought the riser bolts were starting to loosen up. After inspecting the crossbow I found that if I put the bow on a sandbag I can push down slightly on the forward end of my scope and it will pop up and down probably around 1/8 inch (or slightly more). The bow seems to shoot fine, holds zero well, and doesn't appear to have any issues with the latch mechanism or safety. I cocked the bow and took a good look at the latch and the arrow retention spring from both profiles and see nothing wrong. There are 4 small bolts (two on each side) of the upper latch. I haven't tried tightening those but thought I would ask to see if I was making this an issue when it was normal. Thanks for your help.

Re: Movement in upper receiver/latch
Remove the stock and check the 2 screws that hold the trigger box.
My guess is that you will find they are loose.
I put a small dab of loctite on those 2 screws last time it did that.
There are 2 screws holding the stock on. One in the middle of the fore grip - the other you go through a hole in the trigger guard, then pull the stock off.
You can then tighten the screws that hold the trigger box in place.

Thanks Boo
I thought there might be a little play in it just for relief but when I start feeling things move it concerns me for safety. When you're talking about having that much energy ready to go you can't be TOO careful right. Especially after seeing Species thumb (or what was left of it) in his post today. I imagine I will still take it down and have a better look just to ease my mind but it's good to know there is some flex in it.

Scope moves up and down? Scope mounting rail screws would be my first check for this condition as those 4 little allen head screws are notorious for coming loose if not locktighted. Bolt retainer is connected so when you slip a bolt in place it pushes it up. Did it to me the other year and I noticed it once I picked the bow up by the scope and I felt it move.
Time to put another log on the fire!
