On some older weapons the safety will not engage if the trigger has been partially depressed.

Call Excalibur and tell them. Mine did not do that. They rebuilt my trigger two years ago when it started to move the safety it would fire. Jammed into my treestand and broke my scope on the other end of treestand. Excalibur said some of the real old ones are getting some wear on the triggers that affect the safety. Got mine all done for free. But I dropped the bow off to them in Kitchener. They done me good as they do with everyone. CHEERS!
