Dacron string with catwhiskers & 400 grain arrows help a lot.

whiskers and a stopper of sorts. Usual shrink wrap on arrow retainer... heavy arrows
and a wooden stock!!
the older excels make music to the ears when they shoot. It is a celebratory sound. The buddies will know when you shoot a deer. Or they will know when ya miss! (its not that bad).
my opinion is a adf is unnecessary on the long limbers but I can understand the desire to have one.

Do not worry about the noise get used to it insted you will never get it quiet enough that deer will not hear it.
As far as safety it is as safe as the user, but be sure your bolts are long enough to extend into the strip area so you will hit the blot with your boot if you forget to unload it before letting the string down other wise  a big problem will happen real fast.

S5's and dissipater bars will take away much of the twang. Does the trick on my Vortex. I also added the dB killers but haven't shot it yet to see if they make much difference. :)

Anthony, its wider than you are tall! Have a ball. S5's or the older STS, Boo string w/whiskers, heavier arrows( 20"), and an extra wide pop-up blind.

You have it don't you....The addiction.... Cant get enough......
If you shoot an Excel string, and S5's you wont need an ADF. They are bullet proof.
